As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Appalachian Mountain Community Health Center reduces costs for patients.  The health center model of care has been shown to reduce the use of more costly providers of care, such as emergency departments and hospitals. A 2016 multi-state study found that health center patients had 24% lower spending as compared to non-health center patients across all services (that includes 33% lower spending on specialty care, 25% fewer inpatient admissions, and 27% lower spending on inpatient care).  The Health Center Program provides a cost-efficient setting for delivering quality primary care for all.

We proudly adjust our patient charges based on a patient's family size and income.  A patient only needs to bring proof of income to their first visit, and we will gladly help determine their rate of discount.

In addition to patients with traditional insurance, we welcome Medicaid and Medicare patients.  In addition, patients who are "self-pay" can find a primary care home with Appalachian Mountain as well.
